The Omnihedron Swarm

The Omnihedron Swarm

New Boss Stat product available for sale at DriveThruRPG.net

It’s a m0dron boss. We can’t call it a m0dron boss because m0drons are not part of the OGL/SRD but that’s what it is.

Here’s the introduction and some fluff text.

The Omnihedron Swarm

Imagine a plane of existence that obeys rules of absolute law. A realm that functions with clockwork precision from the beginning to the end of infinity. The inhabitants of this plane have purpose within the great pattern; and any deviation from that purpose is treated as an infection or threat to the whole. Within their own plane, all things move with perfection in space and time. Every sentient creature is a part of the master design. Every structure exists in harmony. All is in immutable balance and order.

Now imagine one of these beings of absolute law transported to another… imperfect…  plane.

On other worlds in other planes, there is randomness and confusion. Beings exist in chaos. There is disunity of purpose. There is disharmony. These beings of absolute law must not rest until the great pattern is enacted in this world to bring it into axiomatic perfection. Those living things that do not conform to the great pattern must be absorbed, repurposed, and brought into harmony. Or eradicated.

Law is absolute. Chaos is an abomination. Resistance is futile.

We Are The Swarm. The omnihedron swarm is a sentient mass of polyhedral constructs. Its individual components are all 20-sided geometric shapes of many different colors and sizes ranging from boulders to fine sand. It can alter its dimensions and coloration at will. To most observers the swarm’s movements appear random, but they are actually part of an intricate and perfect pattern. When in the presence of alien creatures, those not of its plane, it will form a semblance of a face out of its mass to enhance its communication with expressions.

Law is Absolute. While it is a sentient swarm, it is not particularly intelligent or personable as it exists for one sole purpose: to assimilate your world into the great pattern. While it is possible to reason or bargain with it; the swarm is amoral, emotionless, and single-minded. It will continue to telepathically dictate the same talking points.

  • We bring order and harmony. Your world will be reshaped to emulate the great pattern.
  • You aliens have disunity of purpose. Your lives are chaotic and out of balance.
  • Within the great pattern you will have unity. Your lives will be given purpose.
  • Conflict is irrational. Once all have been incorporated into the great pattern, there will be peace.
  • Law is absolute.
  • Chaos is an abomination.
  • Resistance is futile.

Assimilation Into The Great Pattern. When the swarm first appears in a new world it will find a remote location to sojourn. It begins by summoning drones to go out and explore the world. The drones collect raw materials and bring them back to the Omnihedron Swarm. When it has collected sufficient minerals and ores, it builds an etheric recyclotron, which the swarm can use to convert matter into universal alloy (a yellowish-bronze metal that is hard as steel). At this point, the omnihedron swarm will begin constructing a lair. The lair is a circular structure that is composed of a twisting, shifting network of concentric circles. Gears grind and walls move within it in a complex pattern. The structure is like a growing factory that chews up the terrain around it, transporting the raw materials to the swarm at its center while continually expanding.

Every hour the swarm increases the size of its territory. As it does so, it will also summon additional drones and advance existing drones upward in the hierarchy to increase the power of its army. Without any resistance, the fortress will eventually consume everything it comes across and integrate the entire world into the great pattern. But there is always resistance.

It’s available for 95 cents as a pdf if your campaign is close to ending and you need a swarm of lawful aliens to try to take over quickly.
