Fiends Eternal (5E)
Now for sale as of a few minutes ago. This is a fiendish supplement for D&D 5th Edition. There are expanded rules for demonic corruption, demonic presences, possession, exorcism, devilish contracts, new demons for the horde, new devils in the legions of Hell, and of course the netherfiends (which is just my made-up word for yugoloths, because the world is better with more yugoloths).
This is the make-or-break product for 00Games to determine whether or not I bother producing anything else. There is so much new material available these days that this product will be visible on the front page of DriveThruRPG for probably only 15 minutes before a glut of new products shoves it in to obscurity. Which is why I didn’t spend much time or effort on a cover…
As a small publisher, with no sizeable fan base, how to get discovered? Can’t Kickstart a product if no one knows who you are. We’ve been drowning in the crowd of online pdf publishers.
Our two best-selling products are the two that have the most reviews. And we have not had a review on a product in over a year, so we’ve just been puttering along. A few people will buy our product then it disappears forever into the internet abyss.
So here’s our strategy for this title. Once the product is purchased, instead of a brief thank you message we are including this promise: “For every review posted from a verified publisher, we will add one new fiend to the bestiary.” Currently, it is a 31-page book with 15 new named fiends (along with stats for the generic horde demons, soldier devils, and netherfiend mercenaries). So if you buy a book early, leave a review and get the momentum rolling on this book, your $2.95 purchase could easily become a 231-page giganto-monster book. And as the book grows we will probably creep the price up to match the content, but everyone who has already purchased the eBook can just update their version to the newest content and get all the new fiends for free. It’s like an anti-Kickstarter… it’s a… slow cooker? Who knows. Hopefully this will lead to more reviews then we’ve ever had on a product, which will lead to enough sales to make it worthwhile to continue to produce new content. Time will tell.
